10th Annual Oscar Party + Birthday Bash

Every year, DMG hosts a party to celebrate the love of movies.  It also happens to coincide with the company founder's birthday, some years both actually happen on the same day!  Basically, it's a chance to raise a little hell and raise a little cash for a worthy cause.

This year is extra special to the team at DMG.  It's our first year operating out of Windsor, with new partners and new friends with which to share our successes.  This annual Oscar gathering will be our first public event and it will be a chance to support a great cause.

Event Details

Doors will open at 7:00pm.

Oscars start at 8:00pm.

Event runs until The Manchester closes at 2am.

Ballots

In order to eligible for many of the prize packages, guests must fill out and submit a completed ballot prior to 8:00pm on February 27th.  You will find the official Oscar Ballot form at the link below.

Fill out the ballot and bring it with you to the event.  You can also fill it out and email a PDF scan back to us. Just remember that you need to get it to us prior to the start of the Oscar telecast.

Prizes

There are 24 categories on the ballot and prize packages will be awarded as follows...

"And the Winner Is..."

This award is given to the person who has the most correct selections on their ballot.  In case of a tie, a winner will be randomly drawn from all of tied ballots.

"Box Office Bomb"

Do you run a studio?  This award is for the most incorrect selections on their ballot.  In case of a tie, a winner will be randomly drawn from all of tied ballots.

"Crafty One"

No, this is not for the best craft service on set! It goes to the most correct selections in the 8 craft categories: Cinematography, Art Direction, Film Editing, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Makeup, Costume Design and Visual Effects. In case of a tie, a winner will be randomly drawn from all of tied ballots.

"Auteur"

No, this is not the writing award.  Sheesh.  It's for the film snob in the crowd.  The prize goes to the most correct selections in the following categories: Documentary Feature, Documentary Short, Animated Short, Live Action Short, Foreign Language Film. In case of a tie, a winner will be randomly drawn from all of tied ballots.

There will also be trivia questions and random prizes handed out during the commercial breaks. Who wants to watch the commercials anyway!

Currently, we have confirmed prize packages from Reaume Chevrolet, Lakeshore Cinemas and Wireless Express.  Stay tuned for more as the event nears.

Tickets

A ticket is required to enter.  Ticket's on Eventbrite are free, but there will be a donation fee of $5.00 at the door. Door sales to support The International Dragon Boats for the Cure.
